Maker Submissions for the 2014 Brighton Mini Maker Faire are now open! The deadline for applications is 9th of June. This year’s Maker Faire will be on Saturday the 6th of September at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange. Developing Dreams is excited to be involved again in the biggest interactive festival of creativity and invention in the South of England.
It’s a great event combining art, craft, technology and science where you can showcase your projects. From DIY microscopes and 3D printing to bush craft, from wool felting to underwater robot demos and toy hacking – everything that’s eye catching where children and adults can get their hands dirty is possible!

Just in case you are wondering why it’s a ‘Mini’ Maker Faire despite the event being the biggest event during the Brighton Digital Festival. It is the name given to a community-run grassroots event. Brighton was the first ‘mini’ event in the UK, in 2011, and has grown every year to be the largest in the UK!
There were 93 mini maker faires around the world in 2013, up from 21 in 2011, when the Brighton event first started. Brighton Mini Maker Faire is a spin off from Make magazine’s Maker Faires, which started in the US in 2006. Here are a few interesting facts and figures:
