If you think that 3D printing is just about making tiny trinkets from expensive source material then this one is for you.
Dirk Vander Kooij is a Dutch designer who makes beautiful objects out of old recycled fridge parts. Most importantly, he saw the potential very early on of upscaling 3d print methods.
He took his vision, a dilapidated robot arm, and created the first Endless Chair. His current work is amazing, but most mind blowing perhaps is the potential of a closed loop manufacturing system that could have a huge impact on the size of waste streams in the future.
